LITERALMENTE mi parte favorita de los P'Day´s es escuchar de ustedes y de sus historias súper bellas! Les tengo una semana muy buena para compartir, y les tengo varias misericordias tiernas que compartí jiji.
Primeramente, MIS ESTUDIOS!!!! Las escrituras son tan verdaderas! Mi compañero y yo estamos estudiando intensivamente la expiación, la autoridad y poder de nuestro llamamiento! Es muy fácil tener estudios súper increíbles cuando tienes un compa que quiere las mismas experiencias, mientras estudian las escrituras! Bueno esta semana estudié un discurso exclusivo para misioneros, también otra bendición de ser misionero es tener tantos discursos profundos de los apóstoles y profetas! Elder Jeffrey R. Holland dio un discurso sobre la expiación y como todo empieza con AMOR. Todo se hace con amor, y el resultado es sentir su amor siempre. Lo más simple del evangelio es uno de los temas que no se entiende totalmente; la expiación y cuánto efecto toma en nuestras vidas. La expiación hace todo más especial. Para las personas que no creen en Cristo, o no tienen un testimonio de su veracidad, nosotros tenemos que seguir compartiendo nuestros testimonios. Hay tantas razones porque esto es una buena idea, pero lo que dijo Holland me impactó mucho. Y lo voy a decir en inglés para que se un direct quote:
"So the fact of the matter is that these are not only hearing their missionaries testimonies of Christ, but they are hearing echoes of their own testimonies, earlier testimonies, testimonies of Him, for they we're on the side of the faithful ones. They kept their first estate and they earned the privilege of this second opportunity. We must always remember that those of this entire human family, every man, woman, and child walking the streets of your mission, were among the valiant that overcame Satan by the power of their testimony of Christ! Don't be discouraged!"
Tanto poder! Entonces, en conclusión, nuestros testimonios hacen recordar un poco, como si el velo se partiera por un poquito, de sus vidas con nuestro Padre Celestial y sus Hijo Jesucristo! Wowowow. Elder Holland me ayudó a recordad porque Jesucristo hizo lo que él hizo. Como sus representantes LITERALES, estamos caminando los mismos paso que el camino. Entonces podemos preguntar por qué no estamos recibiendo tantos bautismos que estamos en una pila bautismal todo el día bautizando, o teniendo 20 lecciones cada día, etc. Nosotros también estamos subjetivo a tener tristeza, pruebas, y momentos muy tristes cuando nuestros hermanos y hermanas rechazan la verdad. Pero igual como Jesucristo cuando estuvo en su misión, nosotros también vamos a sentir un poquitico de lo que Jesucristo siento por cada uno de nosotros! Es increíble! Bueno esto concluye mi sermón jajaja. En el nombre de Jesucristo. Amen.
El Martes, en mi clase de Farsi, Sister Mead me ayudó entender mi potencial y lo rápido que puedo aprender el lenguaje. Dijo que tengo que tomar un paso más grande de fe y sumergirme en el lenguaje! Me motivó mucho más de lo que ya estaba. Estoy aprendiendo el lenguaje a un buen paso, pero ahora me voy a empujar MÁS! De ahí, fuimos a SMC (Santa Mónica College) por qué ahí hay algunos Persos estudiantes que están aprendiendo inglés. Hablamos con muchas personas, pero ninguno era Perso. Cuando estábamos saliendo de la universidad, escuchamos a alguien hablar Farsi y miramos y si, vimos a una pareja que estaban practicando su inglés hablando Farsi jajajaja. Hablamos con ellos y como todos, estaban sorprendidos que hablábamos Farsi.
El Miércoles contactamos mucho del día en Westwood y las personas nos estaban rechazando con mala actitud. Claro nosotros tratamos de seguir con nuestras sonrisas, pero fue un poco difícil. Hablamos con una señora y al final ella dijo que teníamos la luz de Cristo en nuestros ojos y eso me tocó MUCHO el corazón porque sabía que eso era el Señor motivándolos para seguir adelante (misericordia tierna). Tuvimos una lección con nuestra fecha bautismal con nuestro obispo. Nuestro obispo es súper inteligente; es un ingeniero químico y es un profesor en la UCLA!! Hablamos de la Restauración de la iglesia y como él puede llegar a un conocimiento que estas cosas son verdaderas. Tenemos que enseñar la lección otra vez en Farsi para que el pueda hacer la conexión, pero el testimonio del obispo fue tan fuerte que el cuarto estaba lleno de paz y amor! También ayudó que estábamos en el Centro de Visitantes, un edificio consagrado para el Señor! Pudimos obtener nuestras últimos 21 conversaciones en menos de 30 minutos. Es fácil hacerlo cuando nosotros decimos: "Hola Señor/a, le podemos preguntar algo sobre el Libro de Mormón, o de Jesucristo -lo que sea-, y dicen ustedes son los Mormones verdad, y nosotros decimos que sí. Y después se van!
El Jueves fue interesante. Fuimos a USC a visitar un estudiante que quiere ser bautizado (para que sepan, la mayoría de las veces que nos encontramos con estudiantes Persos, están aquí para terminar su Ph.D, o aprendiendo Inglés y después hacen eso). Entonces, hace como 7 meses, los misioneros Persos en esos tiempos lo enseñaron pero no estaba demostrando progreso; pero recién el estudiante, estaba leyendo el Libro de Mormón y sintió que era verdadero y se quiera bautizar. Bueno fuimos al instituto de USC para vernos ahí con él y las hermanas que le están enseñando. El quiere ser bautizado este Domingo. Hablamos con él y vimos lo entusiasmado que estaba de hablar de la iglesia y la doctrina. Sabía mucho, de la Palabra de Sabiduría, la ley de Diezmo, la castidad, y que están establecidas para ejercer nuestra fe, de los reinos de gloria; él es una esponja para todo lo que le enseñaron y de lo que estábamos diciendo. Bueno al final, llegamos a la conclusión que no tenía residencia aquí y que tiene que esperar para ser bautizado por razones de seguridad. Pero su espíritu todavía estaba lleno de alegría y paz. Dijo que iba a seguir yendo al Instituto para aprender más! Después fuimos a Korean BBQ por qué está más o menos cerca del instituto. Las personas encargadas del edificio ya nos conocen muy bien y nos aman mucho. Bueno, cuando estábamos terminando las últimas carnes, nos dieron 2 carnes del menú de $17.99 GRATIS; fue un pulpo MUY rico, y una carne bien jugosa con una salsa un poco picosa!!
El Viernes tuvimos nuestra reunión de distrito. Como saben mi distrito son los otros Farsi Elders y somos co-distritos con los Coreanos. Entonces alternamos de capilla cada otro viernes. Después de nuestra reunión, fuimos a dar servicio a una señora que vive del otro lado de la misión, casi afuera de la misión. Eran los otros Farsi misioneros y nosotros dos. Mientras serviamos hablamos con ellas, y llegamos al conocimiento que una es la esposa de uno de los senadores de la ciudad, y que su hijo también está en oficina ahorita! Entonces yo como salido dije, será que nos pueden escribir letras de recomendación, y ellas súper feliz con la idea. Entonces al final del servicio, intercambiamos información y ella nos dio su correo electrónico y el esposo y el hijo nos van hacer el favor! Jijiji. Esto fue tan increíble porque recientemente recibí revelación que para mí carrera y adonde tengo que ir para estudiar y estaba un poco estresado, nada que afecta mi trabajo como misionero, solo un pensamiento que salía algunas veces durante la semana. Entonces cuando ellas estaban más que feliz de hacernos este favor, me dio MUCHA paz de que todo está trabajando en el tiempo del Señor y él sabe que cuando nos perdemos en el servicio de los demás, el nos va cuidar! Amo tanto el tiempo del Señor!
El Sábado tuvimos una lección con una de nuestras investigadoras. Ella también está terminando su Ph.D y es bien intelectual. Hablamos mucho de guía y como por la fe podemos tener esperanza que todo va salir bien en las manos del Señor. Pudimos obtener nuestras 20 conversaciones en menos de una hora después de la lección.
El Domingo fue largo pero muy bueno. Estábamos en la capilla por 5 horas. Estuvimos con nuestros 2 investigadores en la iglesia con el YSA jajaja. De ahí, nos fuimos a San Fernando Valley, esa es la misión arriba de la de nosotros, y visitamos a unas referencias. Hay unos misioneros que sirven bien cerca del borde de las misiones adonde hay muchos Persos también entonces ellos nos encuentran la información de los potenciales y nos las mandan. Nos encontramos con ellos para darles unas tarjetas de nuestra clases de inglés. Visitamos a 4 referencias, y las últimas 2 estaban interesados. El hijo estaba más interesado que el papa y a los dos le dejamos un capítulo para leer en el Libro de Mormón. Estamos muy emocionados de ver cómo el evangelio va cambiar su vida! Un domingo bien único!

Hi my
beautiful family!
Literally my favorite part of P-day is listening about your week.
I have a great week to share with you guys; I have several tender mercies
to share.
First and foremost, MY STUDIES!!! The scriptures are so true! My
companion and I are extensively studying the atonement, and the authority and
power of our calling. It is very easy to have super incredible study
sessions when your companion wants the same experiences. Well this week I
studied a talk that is exclusively for missionaries; another benefit of being a
missionary is having so many talks by the apostles and prophets. Elder
Jeffrey R. Holland gave a talk on the atonement and how it starts with love.
Everything is done with love, and the result is to feel his love always. One
the most simple concepts of the gospel is one of the most misunderstood: the
atonement and how much effect it has on our lives. The atonement makes
everything more special. For people that don’t believe in Christ, or
don’t have a testimony of his truthfulness, we have to continue sharing our
testimonies. There are many reasons why this is a good idea but what
Elder Holland said really impacted me. He said

So powerful!! So, in conclusion, our testimonies help remind them
a little bit, as if the veil parts and they feel a piece of the life they had
with our Heavenly Father. Wow. Elder Holland helped me remember why Jesus
Christ did what he did. As his literal representatives, we are walking the
same steps that he did. So we can ask why aren’t we having so many baptisms
that we are in the baptismal font all day long, or having 20 lessons each day,
etc. We are also subjected to sadness, trials, and moments of
disappointments because our brothers and sisters reject the truth. But
just like Jesus Christ when he was on his mission, we are also going to feel a
little bit of what he felt for each one of us. It’s Incredible! Well this
concludes my sermon loll. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
On
Tuesday, in my Farsi class, Sister Mead helped me understand my potential and
how fast I can learn the language. She said that I have to take a bigger step
in faith and really submerge myself in the language. She motivated me
more than I already was. I am learning the little by little, but I am
going to push myself MORE! From there we went to Santa Monica College because
there are some Persian student that are learning English. We spoke with
lots of people but none of them were Persian. When we were leaving the
college we heard someone speaking Farsi and we looked and there was a couple
speaking Farsi while trying to work on their English loll. We spoke with
them, and like everyone else they were surprised we spoke Farsi.
On
Wednesday we contacted most of the day in Westwood and the people were
rejecting us with really bad attitudes. Of course we tried to continue
with our smiles, but it was becoming difficult. We were speaking with a
lady and towards the end she said to us that we had the light of Christ in your
eyes. That touched my heart so much because I knew that that was the Lord
motivating us to press forward (tender mercy). We had a lesson with our
baptismal date and the bishop. Our bishop is super intelligent; he is a
chemical engineer and a professor at UCLA!! We spoke on the restoration of the
church and how he can come to understand that these things are true. We
need to teach the lesson again in Farsi so he can make the connection, but the bishop’s
testimony was so strong that the room was filled with peace and love. It
also helped that we were in the Visitors Center.
Thursday
was interesting. We went to USC in
the afternoon to visit a student that wanted to be baptized. So, about 7 months
ago the Farsi elders had been teaching him but he showed no progress. But recently he had been reading the
Book of Mormon, and he felt that it was true; and wanted to be baptized. We met with him and the sisters that
have been teaching him the institute building. He wants to be baptized this Sunday. We spoke with him and we could see how
he spoke with such enthusiasm about the church and its doctrine. He knows so much about the word of wisdom;
tithing, chastity and that they have been established to exercise our faith on
the kingdoms of glory. He is like a sponge for everything we try to teach
him. In the end we came to the
conclusion that he could not get baptized for security reasons. But his spirit is still filled with
happiness and peace. He said he
would continue going to institute to learn more! After we went to eat Korean
BBQ because it’s close to the institute.
The managers know us quite well and they love us a lot. Well, when we were about finished with
our meats they gave us two extra meats for free.
On Friday
we had our district meeting. As
you guys know we are part of a co-district with the Korean elders; so every
other Friday we alternate church buildings. After our meeting, we went to do service for a sister that
lives on the other side of the mission.
While we were serving we talked and learned that one of the woman was
the wife of the city senator, and her son is also in office. Well I was a little forward and I asked
them if it was possible they could write us letters of recommendation. They were happy with the idea and
excited to comply. This was
incredible because recently I have been receiving revelation about my career
and where I should study and I was a little stressed, but this hasn’t affected
my missionary work. So when they
were so excited to grant us this favor I felt a huge relief that everything was
working out in the Lord’s time. I know that when we lose ourselves in the
service of others, he will take care of us. I love the Lord’s time!!!
Saturday we had a lesson with one of our investigators. She is finishing her PhD she is very
intelligent. We talked about guidance and how by faith we can have hope that
everything will be okay in the hands of the Lord. We were able to obtain 20 conversations in less than half an
hour after the lesson.
Sunday
was a long day but awesome day. We
were at church for 5 hours. We
were with 2 of our investigators at YSA.
After church we went to San Fernando Valley; this is the mission to the
North. The missionaries that are on the boarder encounter many Persians so they
call us with all of their information.
We met up to hand them cards for our English classes. We visited a total of 4 references and
2 we really interested. All in all
a very unique Sunday for sure.
