Esta
semana puedo decir que estoy cumpliendo la meta de la misión. Estoy aprendiendo
a hacer cosas difíciles con la ayuda de Dios!
El
Lunes fue un día increíble de diversión y de relax. Nos fuimos de compras a un
centro comercial que se llama, The Beverly Center. Ahí encontré mis shirt tail guards. Son muy
buenos y trabajan tan chevere. Llegamos tarde a la casa
por el traffico de L.A. Entonces no
tuvimos tiempo de terminar nuestras compras.
El
Martes enseñamos a un Señor de Republica Dominicana y él es súper chevere para
enseñar el evangelio. Es de buena honda y sabe mucho de Dios.
Estamos
ayudando a J entrar al templo con unos nombres. Ella a visto tantos milagros
con lo fácil que a sido para entrar su familia y poder organizarlo en el
sistema de la Iglesia. En verdad es tan especial ver una persona emocionarse
haciendo este trabajo para nuestras familias. J es un ejemplo para mí!
Bueno
les quiero decir algo de mi compañero. Al principio del traslado, no sabía que
iba hacer por qué él era un compañero bien diferente de los demás. Mi paciencia
ha sido llevada a diferentes niveles, aprendi amar a mi prójimo CONSTANTEMENTE,
y más que nada verlo como un hermano. Cuando acepté al Señor, mediante de su
siervos, me dio este compañero y las bendiciones que salen del Elder Delgado.
Él tiene un don de preguntar preguntas que ayudan al investigador a aplicar el
evangelio a su vida. Mientras me enfocaba en lo bueno, pude sacar lo bueno y
aplicarlo a mi vida. Él vio cuánto me interese en su vida y con el tiempo, él
empezó a decirme más de cómo llegó a sus testimonio.
Ya
el frío está pasando aquí. Está más fresco que nada. Se siento bien rico.
El
viernes tuve inter cambios con mi líder de Distrito (Elder Williamson) y
tuvimos muchos momentos increíbles. Pudimos tener 2 lecciones con miembros
presentes, y los dos fueron a última hora por qué se nos cancellaron todas
nuestras citas. El Señor nos guió para hablar con muchas personas (25) y
pudimos enfocarnos en las verdades del evangelio. Ese día, no sé por qué, pero
compartí mucho mi testimonio con todas las personas en la calle. Lo bello de
eso es que cuando estaba compartiendo mi testimonio, ellos dejaban la prisa que
tenian y en verdad escucharon mis palabras; me sentí que estaba haciendo algo
correcto, un representante de Nuestro Salvador.
El
Domingo fue el climax de la Semana. Era la noche de las llamadas de transferencias.
Nos enfocamos en nuestras lecciones para distraernos de lo que iba pasar esa
noche. En realidad, no sabía que iba pasar, adonde mi iba ir, si me iba quedar,
nada. Bueno, a las 8:30 de la noche, fuimos a visitar a un menos acitivo que
planeamos empezar su preparación de entrar al templo por la primera vez.
Tenemos una idea para cada uno de nuestros Recién Conversós, le íbamos a dar
una foto del templo de Los Ángeles con un mensaje personalizado para cada uno
atrás de la foto. Bueno, pudimos entrar con R, el Recién Conversó, y le dimos
esta foto en un sobre. Lo abrió y leyó la carta en voz alto. Le gusto muchos y
creyó un ambientó con el espíritu. Testificamos del templo y como el bautismo
era la puerta para esto. Se emoció mucho y se motivo para poner el templo como
una meta!
Cuando
salimos de esa lección, vimos que teniamos 2 llamadas perdidas... Era… El
Presidente Weidman!!! Es bien raro que EL llame 2 veces. Lo llamamos de regreso
y el estaba feliz que estabamos en una lección. Dijo que quería hablar conmigo.
Me dijo "Elder Argüelles, yo he sentido que tengo que cambiar su lenguaje
de la misión. Has sido seleccionado para hablar FARSI!!! Que sabe de
este programa?" Yo le dije que sé que está progresando mucho por qué están
encontrando muchas personas. El dijo "Correcto". Él dijo que nadamas
los misioneros que trabajan MUY duro son seleccionados para este llamamiento!
Qué emoción. Esa noche estaba empacando toda la noche hasta las 12:30 yo como
se imaginan, no Dormí!!!! Pero estoy extremadamente emocionado por esta oportunidad
para ser un FARSI misionero!
Mis
estudios del Libro de Mormón han sido fantástico por qué son tan inspirado por
el espíritu! Éter 3 y 4, son los mejores ejemplos de fe que tenemos! El Señor
dice en l capitulo 4:
7 Y el día en que ejerzan la fe en mí, dice el Señor, así como lo hizo el hermano de Jared, para que se santifiquen en mí, entonces les manifestaré las cosas que vio el hermano de Jared, aun hasta desplegar ante ellos todas mis revelaciones, dice Jesucristo, el Hijo de Dios, el Padre de los cielos y de la tierra, y de todas las cosas que en ellos hay.
Nosotros, igual como el Hermano de
Jared, podemos saber todas las cosas con un conocimiento, y no solamente una
creencia! Como misionero, ayudamos a tener un conocimiento de las cosas por qué
hay cosas que nos prueban la fe, pero yo puedo testificará, mediante mi fe, que
yo SE que esta Iglesia es la verdadera y que yo soy un representante de nuestro
Redentor! El Libro de Mormón es LO MEJOR!!
Los quiero mucho
y que tengan un día lleno de fe y esperanza!

This
week I can say that I am meeting the goals of a mission. I am learning to do difficult things with the
help of the God!
Monday was an incredible day filled
with fun and relaxation. We went
shopping at a mall called, “The Beverly Center.” I was able to find the shirt tail guards I
needed. They are awesome and they really
work. We were late getting home because
of the LA traffic, so we weren’t able to finish shopping.
On
Tuesday we taught a man from the Dominican Republic, he is really cool to teach
the gospel to. He is awesome and know a
lot about God.
We
are helping J to reach her temple goals with her own name! She has seen so many
miracles with how easy it has been to enter her family and organize it in the
church’s system. Its really special to
see how excited she is to do this temple work for many families. J is an example to me!
Well
I would like to tell you guys something about my companion. At the beginning of the transfer, I didn’t
know what I was going to do because he was a very different companion. My patience has been increased to new
levels. I have learned to
unconditionally and CONSTANTLY love my fellow man; more than anything to see
him as a brother. When I accepted the Lord,
thru his servants, he gave me this companion and all the blessings that came
with Elder Delgado. He has a gift of asking our investigators questions that
help them apply the gospel to their lives.
While I focused on the good, I was able to get the good out and apply it
to my life. He saw how interested I was
in his life and with time he shared his journey to how he gained his
testimony.
Winter
has passed here. Its cool for the most part. It feels really nice.
On
Friday I had exchanges with my district leader (Elder Williamson) and we had
many incredible moments. We were able to
have 2 lessons with present members, they were both last minutes because we had
other cancellations. The Lord guided us
to talk with many people (25) we were really able to focus on the truths of the
gospel. That day I don’t know why but I
shared my personal testimony with everyone on the street. The beautiful part was that when I would
share my testimony, they would slow down
and really focus on what I was saying. I
felt that I was doing something right, being a representative of our Savior.
Sunday
was this weeks CLIMAX!!! It was the night of transfer calls. We focused on our lessons so we could
distract ourselves from what would happen that night. In reality I had no idea of what was going to
happen. I didn’t know if I was leaving
or staying. Well, at 8:30pm we went to
visit a less active that we are helping prepare to enter the temple for the
first time. We had an idea for each one of our Recent convert, we are going to
give them a picture of the Los Angeles temple with a personalized message from
us on the back. Well we went into the
lesson and gave R his picture in an envelope. He opened it and read the message
out loud. He really liked it and it
filled the room with the spirit. We
testified of the temple and how bauptism is one of the doors to reach the goal. He got so excited and is so motivated to keep
his goal of entering the temple.
Once
we were done with the lesson we look at our phone and we had TWO missed calls.
It was… President Weidman!!!! It is really rare that HE is the one that calls
much less TWO times!!! El Delgado called him back and he was really excited to
that we had been teaching a lesson. He
then said that he wanted to speak to ME!!! He said “Elder Argüelles, I have
felt that I need to change the language of
your mission!!! You have been selected to speak FARSI!!! What do you
know of this program?” I told him that I knew the program was progressing
rapidly because they were finding many people.
He said Correct! He said that only the missionaries that work
EXCEPTIONALLY hard are selected for this calling! HOW EXCITING! That night I packing until 12:30AM and like
you can imagine I did not sleep. But I am extremely excited for this
opportunity to be a FASI missionary!
My studies of the Book of Mormon
have been fantastic because they are so inspired by the spirit! Ether 3 and 4
are some of the best examples of faith we have! The Lord says in Chapter 4:
7 And in that day that they shall exercise faith in me, saith the Lord, even as the brother of Jared did, that they may become sanctified in me, then will I manifest unto them the things which the brother of Jared saw, even to the unfolding unto them all my revelations, saith Jesus Christ, the son of God, the Father of the heavens and of the earth, and all things that in them are.
Just like the
brother of Jared we can know all things with a knowledge, and not only a
belief. As a missionary we help to
obtain a knowledge of all things because there are things that test our faith,
but I can testify through my faith, that I KNOW that this church is true and
that I am a representative of our Redeemer! The book of Mormon is the BEST!
I love you very
much and I hope you have a day filled with faith and hope!
