Que semana tan increible!!!
Yo creo que es la semana
más estresante de mi vida
Comenzamos con el Martes.
Nos paramos temprano porque tuvimos una reunión de líderes (yo fui porque mi
compañero es Líder de Distrito igual que Elde Barker). La reunión era tan
especial y se hablo mucho de compromisos con los investigadores. Nos dijeron
que la manera que tratamos el bautismo las primeras lecciones con ellos es la
manera que ellos los van a tratar, como algo muy importante o algo casual. He
visto lo importante que es invitar a todos a ser bautizados; no porque son un
número, sino porque es su Salvación !!.
Tenemos que tener expectativas de nuestros investigadores y tenemos que
ensenar cuanto les amamos y lo dispuesto que estamos para ayudarlos. Ellos no
van a seguir el compromiso si no lo extendemos. Después de la reunión,
visitamos a muchos Menos Activos para ver como están y que pasa que no vienen a
la iglesia. Fuimos a comer a la casa de un miembro y un hombre no estaba en la
casa entonces comimos afuera y 20 minutos después llego el esposo; TENIA TANTO
FRIO!!! Está muy fresco y los "sweaters" que tengo son perfectos...
Tuvimos una lección con una
de nuestras investigadoras que tenía una fecha bautismal para este domingo ella
dijo que no pensaba que estaba lista por que no sabia todo... Le dijimos que no
tiene que saber todo para ser bautizada pero no entiende eso... Todavía estamos
trabajando con ella y tristemente no se bautizo este Domingo (asi lo quiere el
Señor).
Miércoles fue un día
INCREIBLE!!!!!!!!!! J (ella es la estrella de este traslado porque es nuestro
enfoque) es la otra que también tuvo una fecha para este domingo para ser
bautizada. Tuvimos la entrevista esta semana para su bautismo lo paso!!!! Pero
al final cuando salió de la entrevista, nos dijo que no podía estar para el Bautismo el Domingo por
que se tenia que ir al trabajo después de la capilla. El único día que podía
bautizarse esa semana era el Viernes,
que era 2 DIAS DE PREPARACION! Ahora el stress que tuvimos por que el
Bautismo iba ser el Domingo, se aumentó a lo más alto posible que en
verdad pude decir que "lo que falta
es chicha" para estar listo en 2 días…... pero oramos con mucha fe y
poder. Ay no.... qué momento tan serio! Pero ahora que pienso en esos momentos
me rio mucho porque me imagino que es tan chistoso ver a misioneros correr por
todos lados la semana de un bautismo! Y también el Elder Barker pudo venir
porque Jimena quería que El la bautizara. Tan bello fue verlo a él
y a ella!
El Jueves era entrevistas
con el Presidente!!!! Cada vez que sé que lo voy a ver, sea un entrenamiento o
entrevista, me emociono tanto porque siento un amor de él que nunca quiero irme
de su presencia. El es escogido por el Señor para hacer esta obra y él es tan
humilde. Toda la misión lo respeto tanto por que habla con tanto poder y todos
saben que él es escogido. NADIE habla cuando el está hablando por que todo
estamos en las puntas de nuestras cillas para escuchar todo lo que él tiene
para decir. Bueno, la entrevista. Tuve 8 minutos y 34 segundos tan increíbles. Cuando entre al cuarto,
ya sentí paz y amor de mi Señor que me faltaba tanto porque esta semana ha sido
tan loca. Nos sentamos y me pregunto cómo va mi literatura del Libro de Mormón
y le dije que voy al día con la literatura y estoy disfrutando mucho de ese
"challenge". Después me pregunto "que tienes en la
mente".... Wow, tantas cosas pasaron por mi mente pero en dos segundos, se
aclaró todo y sentí preguntarle "como siento paz en un momento tan
estresante?". Pense de
todas las posibles respuestas que
el me daria: Como hacer mas ejercicio, o leer mas, etc... pero el me dijo
"Give it all to the Lord, He'll
guide you to what to need to worry about the most and what you don't need to
worry about". Esas palabras sencillas me
tocaron el corazón tan fuerte que sabía que no hubo otra respuesta más perfecta
para escuchar en ese momento!!! Me dijo al final que el esta tan agradecido que
soy un misionero en esta misión! Un hombre tan favorecido como Nefi por el
Senor! :)
Y llego el VIERNES!!!!!! El
bautismo de Jimena. Empezamos el viernes como siempre con una reunión como
distritos en la zona. Nos fuimos después a comer en la casa de una hermana que
nos da comida todos los viernes que se llama la Hermana Chavez. Cocina TAN
RICO. Estoy aprendiendo mucho de ella y ya tengo un amor muy grande por ella!
Nos fuimos corriendo después a las casa para llegar al bus que pasaba en 15
minutos. Dejamos todo organizado cuando nos fuimos esa mañana para nada mas
agarrar todo e irnos. Preparamos todo en una hora, y estuvimos listos, con un
poco de stress pero estaba implementando lo que me dijo mi Presidente
"todo al Señor". Bueno muchas cosas buenas pasaron como pudimos
entrar al edificio sin problema lo hicimos todo en una hora, pero...
igual como era Friday the 13th, hubo muchas cosas que no eran tan buenas que
pasaron jajaja. La llave para llenar la pila se rompió y tenía que meterme en
un hueco ("hole") para llenarlo. Nadie, ni J, llego hasta las 5:15, y
empezaba a las 5, pero llegaron unas cuantas familias. Sabíamos que no iba
llegar muchos porque solamente tuvimos 2 días para llamar a todos del cambio de
día. Bueno, al final, el bautismo fue increíble. El presidente de Estaca,
President Larson que es una parte grande de la conversión de Jimena, vino y dio
un discurso del Bautismo súper increíble (con traducciones por el Elder
Arguelles ;)) y terminamos con Yo se que vive mi Senor! Fue una noche llena de
milagros! Después fuimos a una noche de hogar que la dio la familia O y
vinieron como 5 familias! Era más como una fiesta, pero el espíritu estaba tan
bello!
Bueno el resto de la semana
fue más relajada con 2 investigadores más y muchos milagros. Un día, sentimos
manejar por un camino oscuro. Nos fuimos y nos encontramos con Robert, un menos
activo que no tiene teléfono o casa entonces es muy difícil encontrarlo.
Hablamos y nos dijo que esta mejorando y que nos quiere ver otra vez!
La Escritura de la semana

20 Y empezó a haber hombres inspirados del cielo y enviados, que anduvieron entre el pueblo en toda la tierra [de Los Angeles], predicando y testificando intrépidamente de los pecados e iniquidades del pueblo, y testificándoles concerniente a la redención que el Señor haría por su pueblo, o en otros términos, la resurrección de Cristo; y testificaron intrépidamente acerca de su muerte y sus padecimientos.
El nos compartió esto y en
verdad me sentí tan protegido porque estoy en la obra del Señor y el me ama!
Soy escogido para estos tiempos para ayudar a sus hijos perdidos a venir hacia
el!
Bueno, anoche nos llamó uno
de nuestros líderes para avisarnos que va a ver una cambio en nuestros
compañerismo. La noticia es: vamos
a tener un tercer compañero. MI PRIMER TRIO!!!! WOWOWOWOWOW
El Domingo fuimos a un
bautismo de uno de los investigadores del Elder Mason y allí conocimos Elder
Solano, quien va a ser el tercer compañero en el trio.
Tengo un entrenamiento
mañana para que me den mi iPad. Estoy tan emocionado para ver cómo puedo usar
tecnología de una buena manera y obtener hábitos saludables que voy a tener por
el resto de mi vida!

What an
incredible week!!!
I
think that this week is the most interesting one I have had.
Lets
start with Tuesday. We woke up
early because we had a leader meeting (I went because like Elder Barker my
companion is a District Leader).
The meeting was so special and it talked a lot about the commitment with
the investigators. They told us
that the way we treat baptism in the first couple lessons with them is the way
that they are going to treat it, as something important or something
casual. I have seen how important
it is to invite everyone to be baptized not because they are a number but
because it’s their salvation. We
have to have expectations of our investigators and we have to show them how
much we love them and are available to help them. They are not going to
continue the commitment if we don’t extend it. After the meeting, we visited many less actives to see how
they are and to see why they are not coming to church. We went to eat at the home of a member
but there was no male so we had to eat outside and after 20 minutes the husband
came home. I WAS SO COLD!!! It is very cold and the sweaters I have are
perfect.
We
had a lesson with one of our investigators she had a baptism date for this
Sunday she said she didn’t think she was ready because she didn’t know anything…
We are still working with her and sadly she didn’t get baptized this Sunday (that’s
how God wants it)
Wednesday
was INCREDIBLE!!! J (she is the star of this transfer because she is our focus)
she is the other one that also had a date for Sunday to be baptized. We had the
interview this week for her baptism and she passed. Once she was out of her interview, she told us she could not
be baptized on Sunday because she had to go to work right after church. The only day she could to it this week
was Friday, which only left two days to prepare. Now the stress that we had for a baptism that was going to
be on Sunday, increased to the max.
But we prayed with a lot of faith and power. Oh no… it was a very
serious moment! But now I think
about those moment and I laugh a lot because I imagine it is very funny to see
missionaries run around everywhere on baptism week. Also Elder Barker was able to come because J wanted him to baptize
her. It was beautiful to see him
and her.
Thursday
was interviews with the President!!! Every time I know I am going to see him,
in a training or interview I get so excited because I feel his love that I
never want to leave his presence.
He is chosen of the Lord for this work and he is so humble. The entire mission respects him so much
because he speaks with so much power and everyone knows he is chosen. NOBODY talks when he is speaking
because we are on the edge of our seats listening everything he has to
say. Well the interview, I was in
there for 8 minutes and 34 seconds incredible! When I entered the room, already I felt peace and love of my
Savior that I needed so much because the week had been crazy. We sat down and he asked me how my
reading of the Book of Mormon was going I told him I was up to date and
enjoying the challenge very much.
After he asked me “ what’s on your mind”… WOW, so many things went
through my mind but in two seconds, everything was clear and I felt like asking
him “ How do you feel peace in moments off great stress?” I though of all the possible responses
he could give me like: excercsie more, read more, etc. but he told me
"Give it all to the Lord, He'll guide you to what to need to worry about
the most and what you don't need to worry about". Those simple words touched my heart so
strong that I knew there was not a more perfect response for me to hear at that
moment. He told me at the end that he was so thankful that I was a missionary
in this mission. A man favored by
the Lord like Nephi ☺
And
then FRIDAY!!!! J’s baptism. We
started Friday as always with a meeting with our zone districts. After we went to eat at a sister's home
that gives us food every Friday. She
cooks sooo well. I am learning so
much from her and I have a great love for her. We left in a hurry to the house so we could get to the bus
that was going to arrive in 15 minutes.
We left everything organized that morning so we just had to get it and
leave. We prepared everything in
an hour, and we were ready, with some stress but I was implementing what my
President had told me “everything to the Lord”. Well many good things happened like we were able to enter
the building without any problem and were able to do everything in an hour, but.
Just like it was Friday the 13 many things that were not very good also
happened ha-ha. The key to fill the font broke and I had to get in a hole to
fill it. Nobody not even J arrived
until 5:15 and it was supposed to start at 5, but several families came. We knew not many families were going to
be able to come because of the short notice. Well in the end, the baptism was incredible. The stake president, President Larson
who is a big part of J’s conversion, came and gave a talk on baptism super
incredible (with translation by Elder Arguelles) and we ended with I know my
savior lives! It was a night fill with miracles! After we went to a Family Home
Evening that the O family hosted and 5 families came. It was more like a party, but the spirit was beautiful.
Well
the rest of the week was more relaxed with 2 more investigators and many miracles.
On day we felt like riding down a dark alley. We found R, a less active that
has no phone or home so it was difficult to find him. We spoke and he told us that he was getting better and
wanted to see us again!
The
Scripture of the week (It was shared by President Weidman in a training):
And there began to be men inspired from heaven and sent forth, standing among the people in all the land (Los Angeles), preaching and testifying boldly of the sins and iniquities of the people, and testifying unto them concerning the redemption which the Lord would make for his people, or in other words, the resurrection of Christ; and they did testify boldly of his death and sufferings.3Nephi 6:20
He shared this
with us and I truly felt so protected because I am in the Lord’s work and he
loves me! I am chosen for these times to help his lost children come unto him.
Well
last night one of our leaders called us to left us know that there would be a
change to our companionship. The
news is… we are going to have a third companion. My third trio!!! WOWWW. On Sunday we went to a baptism of
one of the investigators of Elder Mason and there we meet Elder Solano, he is
going to be our third companion.
I
have training tomorrow so they can get an iPad. I am so excited to see how I can use technology in a good
way and obtain healthy habits that I will have for the rest of my life!
